They sometimes lend their powers to assist humans in performing magical tasks. If you sit very quietly on the floor of the mother earth and listen you can hear them at work. They communicate with the insects and plant auras. Listen and you too can hear the grass grow and interact with these fascinating beings. They are often tricksters so you have to be careful when communicating with then.
